US Foods Maintenance Mechanic in Charlotte Metro, North Carolina

Job Description:

Basic Purpose-

Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of warehouse-related equipment (i.e. pallet jacks, highlifts, forklifts, batteries, etc). This keeps day and night warehouse operations functional to ensure efficient shipping and receiving of product.

Description-

Troubleshoot, diagnose, replace or rebuild and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, dollies, lift gates, etc.) in accordance with company standards.

Perform preventative maintenance within company guidelines and standards.

Complete documentation of all repair orders along with parts usage accountability.

Keep track of assigned repairs by logging in and out of the maintenance software system.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines.

Basic welding

Support to other maintenance shop personnel.

Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications-

Education/Training:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Related Experience/Requirements:

Must have (1) years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy duty commercial diesel mechanic or graduate with technical certification from an accredited school.

Brake Certification

Prior experience with a formal PM program.

Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency.

Successfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Must furnish own personal hand tools.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Ability to comply with EPA and OSHA regulations as pertaining to the shop and fleet.

Ability to read and understand technical and service manuals.

Ability to communicate with co-workers and drivers on mechanical issues.

Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.

Computer and maintenance software experience.

Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights.

Must be able to work overtime when needed.
