US Foods Director of Operations in Denver, Colorado

Job Description:

Basic Purpose-

Description-

Overall planning and conduct of short/mid-term operations objectives. Participates in strategic planning by identifying mid and long-term strategies for the department. Directs management to bring about action towards desired objectives.

Anticipates, analyzes and troubleshoots problems within operations and devises cost-effective and legal solutions and acts to implement same.

Ensure optimum customer service by developing efficient and effective production flow processes and identifying process improvement and cost reduction strategies that are in line with business objectives.

Plans and directs technology affecting functional area to increase innovation, improve productivity and ensure compliance with company, state and federal regulations. Plans headcount needed to maintain service levels, monitors production goals; maintain a zero-error attitude to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Manage inventory losses by identifying any inconsistencies, determining causes and implementing appropriate changes to ensure minimal loss.

Analyze daily performance measures and recommend changes to VP of Operations to ensure company's productivity objectives achieved. In conjunction with Human Resources and VP Operations, interprets the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement and assists in negotiations.

Qualifications-

Education/Training:

·High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred in related subject

·Will accept equivalent combination of education (e.g. high school diploma) and relevant experience.

Related Experience:

·Must possess a minimum of 5 years in foodservice operations distribution and delivery management required

·Prefer experienceworking in a union environment and within contracts.

·Roadnet/Xata experience desired.

·Voxware and Red Prairie desired.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Must have Word and Excel knowledge, Outlook a plus.
  • D.O.T. regulations, Labor Relations, knowledge of OSHA and other regulatory requirements mandatory.
  • Must be able to demonstrate managerial/leadership skills.
