Basic Purpose-


The Sr. Manager Business Intelligence Enablement (Insights and Analytics) is responsible for oversight of analytics developed and deployed within US Foods markets, areas, and regions. As such, all Field analysts are accountable to the Sr. Manager regarding the use of metrics, reports, and tools for the purpose of business intelligence. Will be responsible for leading the development of training and change management to the Field as BI capabilities continuously evolve, including onboarding of new Field analytics professionals. Will serve as Field representative on BI governance committee to ensure standardization of reporting and analytics between Corporate and Field. In that capacity, will provide continuous assessment and skill development to continuously improve the capabilities of Field analysts in parallel to the requirements for analysts at Corporate. Will establish and manage user groups across communities of Field analysts to drive collaboration, knowledge/code sharing, best practice identification, and continuous improvement.

Strategic Solution Development:

  • Owns relationship with Field leadership (Executive, Sales, Merchandising, Operations) to evolve and enhance business intelligence to support their business objectives
  • Collaborate with peer Managers and Senior Leaders of Insights and Analytics to identify improvements in analytics, reporting, software requirements, data improvements; and implement and track satisfaction with changes and improvements
  • Facilitate Field collaboration across geographies and within functions to align business intelligence solutions with business requirements
  • Identify and prioritize custom, special analytic projects - as well as routine reports/analysis, across client groups, serving as implementation leader in the areas of scoping, resourcing, project management, requirements gathering, methodology, metrics/formula standardization/derivation and IT collaboration
  • Understand and have practical experience with leveraging strategic, behavior-based segmentations applying to customers and products as well as other statistical models to further drive actionable, meaningful insight
  • Serve as a representative on both BI and Data Governance Committees

Training/Change Management:

  • Lead the process, including change management strategy and training development and design and deployment planning for next-generation BI implementation (cloud-based)
  • Responsible for establishing and conducting onboarding curriculum for new Field analytics professionals

Skills Assessment and Development:

  • With the BI governance committee, develop core competencies for Field analytics professionals, assess current skillsets across geographies and develop curriculum for continuous education and remediate gaps

Reporting and Metrics Standardization:

  • Conduct and continuously monitor the rationalization of legacy reports and metrics across and within geographies
  • Serve as Field representative on BI governance committee to represent needed enhancements, training, process development, and reports/analytics capabilities in accordance with BI governance policies (drive consistency)
  • Communicate changes and enhancements in metrics and reporting to Field leadership
  • Serve as subject matter expert on US Foods customer, product, and vendor master data management processes


  • Establish and lead cross-functional user groups of Field analytics professionals to accelerate learning/competencies and share best practices, including code and process
  • Collect, organize, and prioritize requirements from the Field for analytical or technological BI enhancements


Education / Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Business, Finance or related quantitative discipline required
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Project and change management certification or experience preferred

Related Experience:

  • 8 years demonstrated successful experience in business analytics, marketing/eCommerce analytics, sales analytics, and/or campaign management
  • 8 years demonstrated successful experience in analytical roles
  • 5 years demonstrated successful experience in food distribution, retail, CPG or related industries
  • 2 years managing direct and indirect reports
  • 3 years project and change management experience
